Cherry Wine, Hozier

I particularly like this example music video, as it highlights an important issue (domestic abuse) in a really engaging way. It also follows 4 of Andrew Goodwin's Music Video Conventions. It is an indie music video and it has the soft lighting and narrative video that is usual for the genre. There is also a clear link between the lyrics and the content of the narrative, and the video is edited to the beat of the song. There is constant voyeurism- with 3 mirrors placed around the main actress. There is multiple close up shots of the actress, but as she is not the singer it doesn't fit the convention of the 'Star Image'. There are also inter-textual references, as it is focusing on a relevant issue.
